Arnotts has been established as a National Department Store since 1845, with primary frontage to Henry Street. Our task was to create new focal entrances on Abbey Street and Liffey Street, integrate the original construction with the new store extension and create dynamic visual impact at street level whilst respecting the urban street context. This visual interplay connects the departments via free-flow spaces with soft shaped edges, curved glass and balustrades. The fulcrum of the design is the naturally lit atrium with its north facing glazed roof.
We have advised, designed and implemented a number of refresh, upgrade, and departmental refits in the new and refurbished development and have advised Arnotts on the organisational and integration aspects of their footplate in the Northern Quarter redevelopment.
