Location: Sallins Completion: 2003 Project Type: Canal Walk Housing No. of Units: 27 units Location: Athy Completion: 1998 KMD Architecture have worked with several Local Authorities over a period of more than 20 years, particularly in the area of social housing. Most recently, we have completed a development of 52 units (houses and apartments) at Sallins for Kildare County Council, as the second phase of an earlier development, also by KMD Architecture. A wetland area, preserved and enhanced as a wildlife habitat, is a central feature of this scheme. A development of 27 units (houses and bungalows) was completed for Athy Town Council on a site adjacent to the Grand Canal in Athy. This scheme includes a special house designed for wheelchair use. The development incorporates a bronze sculpture reflecting the history of the canal. |
