KMD was appointed to advise Wicklow County Council on the re-development of this area. The Wicklow County Development Plan (1999) needed to be updated to improve the overall scheme and to ensure its viability as a Public Private Partnership development. The re-development consists of the restoration of the harbour, the provision of a new marina and beach area and the installation of coastal protection with a high quality dense, urban development adjacent to the water - providing housing (maximum 375 units), leisure, amenity and open space facilities on a total area of 8.32 hectares. An active consultation with the people of Greystones has been undertaken. |
