The project objectives as set by IBM were an unprecedented construction schedule within clear budget constraints. The principle elements of the building were treated separately: A clean room production area (circa 100,000 sq. ft.), an entry / administration block (circa 40,000 sq. ft.) and a support utilities and goods handling block (circa 120,000 sq. ft.). To benefit from the landscaped exterior "outside awareness" windows have been included in the production area while the office space is organised to benefit the maximum number of employees. The facility was completed RFE (ready for equipment) within fifteen months from appointment, which has become a benchmark in Ireland for similar type projects. |
