Our entry was based on the rationalisation of the existing quayside edge and the adaptation of the master plan to Waterford City's urban fabric, scale and streetscape. The venue buildings are grouped around a central public marina. The various mixed-use facilities on ground including shops, cafes, bars and restaurants ensure that this space becomes the vibrant heart of the North Quays. The marina precinct segues gradually from a vibrant mixed-use public space into a more residential precinct with some smaller retail/commercial elements distributed at corner sites on ground level. The generation of a riverside walkway and parkscape is an integral part of the proposal.
